Examples of commonly used line types in Theatrical Technical Drawing.

Visible Outline
Medium Line Weight (0.35)
Visible Outline lines are used to describe the shape of objects, e.g; a table/wall/object on the stage.

Standard Dimension Line
Light Line Weight (0.18)
Used to describe the measurement taken between two points.

Section Outline
Heavy Line Weight (0.5)
Used to describe a “cut” in an object.

Section Interior/Cutaway
Heavy Line weight (0.5)
Cross hatching used to describe the interior of a solid object, e.g; the inside of a wall.

Cutting Plane
Heavy Line Weight (0.5)
Shows where a section has been constructed from a plan.

Concealed Construction
Medium Line Weight (0.35)
Describes object or details below or behind a visible object or surface.

Ceiling Line
Light Line Weight (0.18)
Objects above the horizontal section line.
