The 2011 Prague Quadrennial – international competitive exhibition of scenography and theatre architecture, will take place at the Veletrzni Palace (the building of the Czech National Gallery) in Prague from June 16 to 26, 2011.
The exhibition is the world primary global theatre design exhibition and competition featuring national exhibits from more than 60 countries as well as the popular Scenofest exhibition/festival for young designers and students. In 2007 Scenography – The Theatre Design Website worked with Scenofest to build a digital archive of Scenofest and we hope to return in 2011 to cover this must see exhibition.
How to take part in the Prague Quadrennial
The Prague Quadrennial does not accept applications from individuals – instead you must apply through your national curator. In the UK the national creator is the Society of British Theatre Designers, in the USA it’s the United States Institute for Theatre Technology Inc. Many other countries also have bodies that send exhibits to the PQ.

Student Section
Each country is also invited to present student exhibits (usually grouped into schools).
Scenofest
Scenofest is an educational project of PQ and OISTAT (International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians). Scenofest consists of a large number of workshops, lectures, performances and other events for students and young performing arts professionals. Scenofest is a vibrant and exciting project and we highly recommend that you apply to become a scenofest Volunteer.
