Scenography – The Theatre Design Website, is run by The Online Society of Theatre Designers and Scenographers. The society is a non-profit organisation that offers theatre designers, scenographers, theatre arts professionals a platform to display work and communicate. Apart from promotional activities the Society is a solely Online organisation. It is not an industry union and has no political voice.

History

The website was originally founded in 2002 under the domain www.scenographyUK.co.uk by British theatre designer Martin Paling and a number of other professional theatre designers and theatre academics based at the Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, UK. It’s purpose was to enable post graduate communication between Nottingham Trent’s Theatre Design B.A. Hons alumni. In 2005 the site re-opened under the www.scenography.co.uk domain and offered its services internationally. Although the site no longer has any links to the Nottingham Trent University it is still administered by Martin Paling supported by a number of volunteers from the theatre and arts industries.Today the site is regarded as one of the worlds primary Theatre Design websites.

Scenography – The Theatre Design Website is funded by private donations and maintained and administered by a team of volunteers including; Administrator – Martin Paling. Treasurer – Angela Bower.
